LUCE® Light TherapyAlmost all men experience some degree of hair loss, and until recently, their only options were hair restoration surgery or drug treatments, including topical minoxidil and finasteride pills. But now there is a new non-invasive technology for men and women experiencing hair loss. LUCE Light Therapy is an effective, FDA-approved treatment that involves transmitting low-level infrared laser light directly into the scalp. The cool light emitted by the LUCE (pronounced Loo-chay) device penetrates into the skin to increase blood and lymph circulation at the root of the hair. The result is healthier and more invigorated hair follicles that produce thicker, stronger and more lustrous hair. Proven Hair Loss TreatmentsClinical studies have found that LUCE therapy is extremely effective, slowing hair loss progression in up to 90 percent of patients. This treatment also converts 70 percent of hair follicles from the resting phase to the growing phase. LUCE Light Therapy can be teamed with hair restoration surgery to encourage the growth of newly transplanted hairs without the hairs first being shed, as typically happens after most hair transplant procedures. LUCE Light Therapy has been shown to re-grow hair in up to 50 percent of patients, but it is most effective for stabilizing hair loss. For this reason, men who are just starting to experience male pattern hair loss are excellent candidates for the treatments. Almost 7 in 10 American men live with male pattern hair loss, and beginning LUCE treatments early when thinning starts is a proven way to avoid further hair loss for most patients. Other strong candidates for the treatments are those people not quite ready for surgical alternatives and those who want to improve the quality and thickness of existing hair. A Convenient Therapeutic ApproachLUCE Light Therapy involves no surgery, creams, or medications. The number of treatments you’ll need to combat hair loss depends on the nature of your condition. Men with pattern hair loss generally require an aggressive treatment schedule of 2 light sessions per week for 6 to 8 weeks, and maintenance treatments for a year or longer depending on how the hair follicles respond to therapy. Patients suffering from temporary hair loss and those who want to improve the quality of their hair texture generally need fewer treatments to achieve their hair enhancement goals. To improve and protect your results, regular use of copper peptide-based cleansers and enhancers is recommended. You can learn more during your private consultation and hairloss evaluation.
